City of GP Reports Downtown Water Main Break Poses No Health Issues
The City of Grants Pass is reporting that a downtown area water main break poses no health or safety issues for nearby residents or businesses.
On Tuesday morning, city utility crews rushed to the scene of a water main break on SE Riverside Avenue near 8th Street.
City officials said there is no need to boil water. Only one block had water service interruptions while crews made repairs to the line and those residents were notified immediately.
Some residents in the area may experience some cloudiness in their water, but this is not indicative of an infiltration of contaminants. The sudden surge of water may have dislodged settlement in the pipes.
Customers with questions about the water main break can call Grants Pass Customer Service at (541)-450-6035.
